‘I like a lot!’ Hmmm …. is this really correct?
Or should it say ‘I like it a lot!’
In this video we will have a look at transitive and intransitive verbs. We will find out which of these need to have an object and we will read over several example sentences.
Here is the link to the online dictionary I recommend in the video: Cambridge Online Dictionary
And I like you!
Can I say? I miss your company!!!
Yes, that’s a good sentence. ‘Miss’ is a transitive verb and needs an object. So is the verb ‘call’, e.g. ‘He missed her company, so he called her.’ ‘He’ is the subject and ‘her’ is the object.
I like cooking spanish food a lot.
I saw my family by skipe, yesterday.
He kiss me the last summer.
… and I like your sentences! Good work.
Past tense of ‘kiss’ is ‘kissed’ (He kissed me last summer.)
Intransitive: I was eating
Transitive: She wrote a song for her boyfriend.
Good example sentences!
I like swimming alot.
the mother slept.
Nice sentences!
I cooked a delicious cake.
I can’t stand to cook.
Good try Maya! A better verb in the first sentence would be ‘baked’ or ‘made’.
After ‘I can’t stand’ use -ing form.
